Browning, Livingston boys move on at State A

REAT FALLS — Browning and Livingston survived loser-out games this afternoon at the Class A State boys’ basketball tournament.

Browning beat Laurel 64-59 (stats) before the Rangers knocked off Frenchtown 64-43 (stats) at the Four Seasons Arena. Both advance to Saturday’s loser-out round.

Brendon Johnson’s 27 points led the Rangers in the win. He shot 10 for 11 from the free throw line. McLeod Versland came off the bench to score 12 points, while John Waddell scored 11.

Cade Baker scored 18 points for the Broncs.

Tyree Whitcomb’s 26 points and eight rebounds paced Browning. Riley Spoonhunter tossed in 17.

Levi Taylor scored 17 points to lead three Locomotives in double figures. Wylee Schnetter came off the bench to score 13, and Colter Bales contributed with 10.
