Broncs top BC in four

HAMILTON — Saturday was just not Butte Central’s day.

Hamilton won the first two games and held on for a four-set Southwestern A volleyball victory over the Maroons. The Broncs won 25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21.

“We just did not play well,” BC coach Becky Hancock said. “We started slow and just never got going. Everything seemed off, and once we started to make some progress it just wasn’t enough.”

Ella Moodry paced Butte Central’s attack at the net with 11 kills. Sofee Thatcher added eight kills to go along with 17 digs, and Brooke Badovinac shipped in with six kills, four stuff blocks and seven digs.

Mia Keeley dished out 25 assists for the Maroons. Maycee Anderson led the backcourt with 18 digs. Mollie Drew dug 14, and Keeley dug 11.

Central is back in action Tuesday when the Maroons head to Dillon for a Southwestern A match with the Beavers. BC will be home next Saturday to take on Corvallis.
