Butte High Bulldogs 67 Helena Capital Bruins 59
While the rest of us were going about our Friday morning as usual, Butte High Sophomore Brityn Stewart was busy getting buckets for her team in the AA Divisional Basketball Tournament held in Kalispell.
Brityn Stewart set a Butte High girls’ school record with 36 points, only Lexie Nelson who had 39 in a regular season game has scored more. Brityn passed Butte Sports Hall of Famer Deanna Dugdale who scored 35 points in 1982 for number two overall on the list.

It was an exciting game from start to finish as Capital controlled pace in the first half until a Cadence Graham prayer that cut the lead to just three at the half, 23-20 Capital.
Brityn Stewart was phenomenal from the field and the foul line, with any bit of space Brityn was pulling the trigger and making them pay left and right, she put on the wind shield wiper started left, went right, parked her defender, and stepped through for two it was a great move.
Capital was down 6 late in the second half when they just refused to go away, scoring a quick two and getting a triple and a foul call the next possession to go up 41-40. Laura Rosleanleaf also played stellar on both ends of the ball creating opportunities with her all-out hustle, both teams were dead locked at 49 at the end of regulation.
Overtime began with a tip directly to Emmarie Richards who blazed the lane for a quick two and a stop at the other end, leading to Richards splashing a trey ball from the right wing scoring 5 unanswered and taking over the extra period as the Bulldogs go on to win 67-59, and will play the loser of Hellgate and Big Sky tomorrow at 9:30 am.
Brityn Stewart led all scorers with 36 points, Cadence Graham had 15, Laura Rosenleaf tossed in 7, Emmarie Richards had 5, Brooke Groesbeck had 3, and Dylan Bartoletti had 1. 1 comment
