Brad Wilson 2nd, Bryon Wilson 10th in U.S. moguls

PARK CITY, Utah — Brad Wilson placed second and Bryon Wilson was 10th as the Butte brothers posted top 10 finishes Friday in the 2014 United States Freestyle Ski Championships men’s moguls event.
The meet was held on the Deer Valley Resort course in unstable weather conditions that included a race-time temperature of 34 degrees for the finals.
The event winner was Team USA leader Patrick Deneen and the 21-year-old Brad Wilson joined Deneen on the podium by placing third.
The 62-man field also saw Jeremy Cota place third. Bryon Wilson, 25, finished in 10th place.
The results were changed on the U.S. Ski Team official website after being reported differently on a different website Saturday.
“Deer Valley is so sweet,” Brad Wilson said. “This course is incredible. To do it here at home is amazing. I competed in the Olympics, and that alone was enough, but to come out here and get on the podium with these guys is pretty cool. It’s a nice little bonus at the end of the season.
Deneen and Brad Wilson represented the USA in men’s moguls at the 2014 Winter Olympics last month in Sochi, Russia. Bryon Wilson was the Bronze Medalist at the 2010 Winter Olympics held near Vancouver, British Columbia. Bryon Wilson won the Montana AAU Little Sullivan award that year as the state’s top amateur male athlete. His younger brother has been nominated for this year’s award, which will be announced in May at the state AAU banquet scheduled to be held in Butte.
