Bozeman ends Butte High winning streak

BOZEMAN — The winning streak is over.

A cold-shooting Butte High girls’ basketball team dropped its first game in more than six weeks Tuesday night, falling 45-32 to Bozeman.

The loss ended a 12-game winning streak for the Bulldogs, who fell to 16-3 overall and 9-2 in Eastern AA play. Butte High’s last defeat was a 67-64 overtime loss at Great Falls High.

Butte High hit on just 12 of 52 shots (23 percent) Tuesday night. The Bulldogs hit on just 3 of 21 shots from behind the 3-point arc.

Amy Davis scored 17 points, while Averie Collins scored 10 to pace the Hawks.

Hailey Hoagland paced the Bulldogs with nine points, while Sammy McGree tossed in seven and Carlie Haeffner chipped in with six points and 12 rebounds.

Also, Hattie Thatcher scored five points, while Erika McLeod tossed in three and Natalee Faupel scored two.

The Bulldogs play at Billings Senior Friday night.
