Bozeman boys rout Broncs

GREAT FALLS — For one quarter, Billings Senior gave the Bozeman Hawks all they could handle Friday night at the Eastern AA Divisional boys’ basketball tournament.

Then, the Hawks rolled.

Bozeman outscored Senior 68-24 over the final three quarters for an 87-43 semifinal win at the CMR Fieldhouse. (Stats)

The win sends Bozeman to the 7:30 p.m. championship game against Great Falls High. It also punches Bozeman’s ticket to the Class AA State tournament, which is next week at the Butte Civic Center.

Carter Ash scored 18 points to lead the Hawks (15-5), who saw four players reach double figures. Jackson Coles came off the bench to score 17 points, while Ryan Lonergan scored 13, and Ryan Simpson tossed in 10. Bozeman also got eight points form Brett Clark.

Payton Turner scored 12 points to lead the Broncs (3-17) who will play Billings Skyview in a loser-out game at 11 a.m. Saturday.
