Bock’s 40 leads Tech to win

DICKINSON, N.D. — Bryan Bock officially became an Oredigger legend Saturday.

The junior guard from Rialto, Calif., scored 40 points to help the Montana Tech men’s basketball team knock off Dickinson State 80-71 at the Scott Gymnasium.

Bock hit on 15 of 21 shots from the field — including 7 of 9 from 3-point range. He also dished out five assists and pulled down four rebounds.

“He was incredible tonight,” Montana Tech coach Aaron Woliczko of Bock, who reached double figures for the fourth straight game and for the 15th time this season.

The win was the third straight for the Orediggers, who moved back into the Frontier Conference playoff race with the mini winning streak.

“It was a big-time win,” Woliczko said. “It puts us in much better shape than we were in last night.”

Daniel Simon scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the victory. Adam Greger scored nine, while Brandon Rydberg tossed in seven. Also, Quinn Smith scored five, Roman Pruneda-Garza tossed in three and Travis Peevey scored two.

The Orediggers improved to 5-5 in conference play and 14-10 overall. Tech plays at home against MSU-Northern and Lewis-Clark State College next week.

Brock Boos scored 15 points to lead the Blue Hawks, who fell to 3-5 and 10-14.
