Bobcats seeded 3, receive bye

Montana State’s football team received the No. 3 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs. The bracket was released today.

The Bobcats (10-1) will play Stony Brook (9-2) or Villanova (8-3) at 5 p.m. Dec. 1 in Bozeman. The game will be live on ESPN3.

Stony Brook and Villanova play this Saturday.

Three Big Sky Conference teams made the playoffs. Eastern Washington (9-2) received the No. 2 seed.  The Eagles will play Wagner or Colgate on Dec. 1. Cal Poly (9-2) also made the playoffs and will take on Sam Houston St. (8-3) on Dec. 1.

Northern Arizona (8-3) missed the playoffs. North Dakota State (10-1) is the No. 1 seed.

Montana State beat Montana 16-7 Saturday in Missoula.
