BOZEMAN — The Montana State football team may not have games scheduled for Bobcat Stadium this fall, but that doesn’t mean Bobcat fans won’t have the opportunity to watch the team compete. The Bobcats trade their helmets and shoulder pads for bats and balls on September 19, when the MSU offense squares off against the team’s defensive unit in a softball game at Bozeman’s Heroes Park.
Quarterback Tucker Rovig and linebacker Daniel Hardy serve as captains for their teams in this seven-inning game. The event begins at 2 pm with a Home Run Derby, featuring two players from each side selected by the captains. Raffle tickets are available for $5, with available items including game jerseys No. 15 and No. 41, and game balls from last year’s Austin Peay and Cat-Griz games.
There is no charge for the event, with 400 fans admitted into the grandstands and bleachers. Proceeds from free will donations, raffle items, and the 50/50 drawing to benefit the Bobcat Club providing student-athlete scholarships at Montana State University.
Heroes Park is located at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, just north of North Black and Tamarack Streets. Face mask and social distancing protocols as set by the Gallatin County Health Department will be followed. For information, contact the Bobcat Football office at (406) 994-5694.
