CORVALLIS — Corvallis completed the season sweep of Butte Central Tuesday night, topping the Maroons 3-0 in a Southwestern A volleyball match.
The Blue Devils won 25-18, 25-16, 25-12.
“We played hard, but not together,” Butte Central coach Becky Hancock said. “The chemistry and consistency in our play needs to start being a focus point for us at practice. Communication & the speed of our game need to come with that. It’s about putting the pieces together as we head into the second half of the season. Tonight, Corvallis just picked us apart. We need to be better at being a step ahead of the game.”
Maci Reopelle tallied six kills, and Cassidy Strizic and Amira Bolton followed with five and four to lead BC’s attack. Avery Kelly was a force at the net with three kills and five blocks.
Reopelle added nine digs and five assists for the Maroons, while Emma Keeley registered eight digs and eight assists.
Sophia Burton (seven digs), Sophie Sullivan (six) and Strizic (six) also had a solid match defensively.
The Maroons (6-3 overall and 4-2 in conference) will host the Blocktober Classic Saturday at the Maroon Activities Center.
