Blocktoberfest Volleyball first day in Butte

The first day of pool play at the Butte Central Blocktober Classic saw one team in each pool go undefeated.  With 25 teams competing from Libby to Lockwood and Miles City to Hamilton, fans were treated to the best of Class A and Class B volleyball in our state.

The host Maroons opened the day with two wins a 30-22 over East Helena and a close 30-29 victory over Park.  The BC girls evened their record to 2 and 2 with back to back loses falling to Whitefish 16-30 and Stevensville 26-30.  BC coupled together two more wins 30-17 over Anaconda and 30-15 over Libby before dropping two with losses to Fergus 19-30 and Laurel 23-30.

The Big first day surprise was in the Montana Tech pool where Class B Jefferson finished as the only undefeated team in the pool.  The Panthers defeated Billings Central, Dawson County, Hamilton and DIllon to claim the top spot in the Championship Bracket on Saturday.

2022 BLOCKTOBER CLASSIC Tech Pool Results

The MAC pool was won by Stevensville who went undefeated on the day at 8-0 with Laurel finishing second at 7-1.  Whitefish finished third in the pool with Fergus fourth. Butte Central finished the day 5th at 4-4 in the pool.

Havre was the East Pool winner going undefeated at 7-0 on the day.  Hardin finished second followed by Florence and Polson.

Day two features bracketed tournaments with the Championship bracket at the Maroon Activity Center featuring the top 9 teams with Hardin and Whitefish playing a single elimination play in game at 9am.  The winner plays Jefferson at 10:15.

The Consolation Bracket will be played at the Montana Tech HPER and features the host Butte Central Maroons who play Columbia Falls at 9am.
