Bison take down Bulldogs in five sets

GREAT FALLS — Great Falls High had to work overtime to knock off the Butte High Bulldogs Tuesday night.

The Bison escaped with a 25-11, 18-25, 25-18, 24-26, 15-11 Eastern AA win over Butte High to salvage a split in the season series. The Bulldogs swept the match when the two teams met in Butte.

Danielle Devlin tallied 16 kills to lead the Bison, who topped the Bulldogs in that category 45-26.

Kira Mortensen continued her strong sophomore campaign with 10 kills and 10 blocks to lead the Bulldogs. Bethanney Foley dished out 14 assists for the Bulldogs, while Keeley Pochervina collected 22 digs and Brittney Tierney served three aces.

The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday when they play host to Great Falls Russell. The Bulldogs beat the Rustlers in four sets Sept. 19 in Great Falls.
