Bison girls knock off Bulldogs to stop skid

GREAT FALLS — Erin Watt scored 16 points to lead the way as Great Falls High avenged a loss to Butte High by turning back the Bulldogs 42-31 Saturday.

The Bison took a 19-13 lead into halftime and extended the lead with a 15-8 third quarter.

Aspen Lovshin hit three 3-poitners and scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs, who fell to 1-5 in the Eastern AA and 4-7 overall. Butte High has lost four straight since its win over Butte Central.

Ally Cleverly and Brittney Tierney each scored five points for Butte High. Haley Herron tossed in four, and Makenna Carpenter scored two.

The Bison halted a nine-game losing streak to improve to 1-4 and 2-9.

Butte High is back in action Tuesday when the Bulldogs travel to Bozeman for an Eastern AA showdown with the Hawks.
