On Friday afternoon, the Butte High Cross Country team showed uptown Butte that they are ready to get the season started.  Two seniors led the pack with Ladd Hutchinson coming in first with a time of 19:05 and Ryan Tomich coming in a short time later at 20:19 for second place.

Coach Guy Wadas said, “We have a nice blend of returning runners and newcomers.  The runners, who had a good outdoor track season, will build upon that for the fall cross country season.  We have some strong newcomers who are going to show a tremendous amount of growth.”  The team is lead by six senior captains, Octavia Breeton, Kadden Hennessey, Ladd Hutchinson, Alex Kovenesky, Riley Lubick and Ryan Tomich.  According to Wadas, the captains are great role models and leaders and are building a cohesiveness in the team.  He said, “It’s going to be a fun season.”

The Bulldog runners will begin their regular season on Friday, September 2nd, in Belgrade.
