Beaverhead Marathon set for inaugural run on May 12

The registration price for the first Beaverhead Marathon will go up on Wednesday.

The marathon and half marathon is set to run on May 12. The full marathon will start at Clark Canyon Reservoir at 8 a.m. The half marathon begins at 9 a.m. at the Old Mantaqua water plant along the Beaverhead River.

Both races will finish at Beaverhead Brewing Company.

The registration fee for the full marathon is $85 through Tuesday. The cost goes to $100 from Wednesday through May 10. The half marathon registration will go from $55 to $70 on Wednesday.

Race co-founders Cory Birkenbuel, Dylan Zitzer and Casey Parrott say their mission is to produce a high-quality event that will attract competitors from around the world. They point out that the marathon is located in one of the most beautiful valleys in Montana.
