Beaudin, Richtman, Burk earn Frontier honors

WHITEFISH — Montana Tech Orediggers Naiya Beaudin Becca Richtman and Cody Burk received Frontier Conference weekly honors, the school announced today.

Beaudin was named women’s Field Athlete of the Week, Richman took home women’s Track Athlete of the Week, and Burk was named the men’s Field Athlete of the week.

Beaudin, a freshman from Lolo, just missed qualifying for the national championships by just two centimeters at the Stinger Open in Spearfish, South Dakota. Beaudin jumped 11.13 meters, or 36 feet, 6 inches, to finish second in the triple jump.

Richtman, a senior from Ellburn, Illinois, continued to dominate in the distance events. Richtman won the 5,000 meters with an NAIA-A standard qualifying a time of 16:51.12. Richtman’s time is the fastest in the NAIA this season by 40 seconds.

Burk, a freshman from Thompson Falls, finished 11th out of 26 entrants in the shot put with a throw of 13.57 meters, or 44-6 ¼. The throw was the longest in the Frontier Conference this season.

The NAIA Indoor National Championships is up next. The final indoor meet is in Brookings, South Dakota on March 3-5.
