Bears too much for Lady Diggs

BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech falls to Rocky Mountain 59-42 in the Frontier Conference opener.

The Lady Orediggers scrapped all night, but the Bears put their paws down. Both teams struggled to find their stroke early on. Tech pushed the tempo early and kept pace but Rocky hit four 3’s and inflated their lead in the third quarter outscoring the Orediggers 22-12 and never looked back.

The Orediggers finished shooting 32.1% from the field for the game and went 2 of 19 from beyond the arc.

Tech was led by Aubrie Rademacher with 13 points going 5 of 13 from the field. Rademacher also finished the contest with 5 boards.

Gracee Lekvold had 14 points and Morgan Baird put in 13 from the bench.

Kloie Thatcher returned home and finished with 11 points shooting 3 of 9 from deep. Thatcher also had 4 boards and 4 assists.

Coach Graham and the Lady Diggers will travel to No. 21 Montana Western Saturday for a 2 p.m. frontier conference battle.
