BILLINGS — Montana Tech’s men’s basketball team got a much better start this time out.
The end result, however, was the same. Rocky Mountain College used a strong second half to knock off the Orediggers 71-59 in a Frontier Conference game. Stats
Rob Nyby sccored 26 points to lead the Bears, who overcame a 28-24 halftime deficit to beat the Orediggers for the second time this season.
Taylor Longo scored 15 points, while Ben Moerkerke chipped in with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
True freshman Lukas Vining scored 15 points to lead three Orediggers in double figures. Paul Engstrom scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Jalen Coats scored 12 points.
Tech also got six points form Cruz Ginns Jr., five from Kale Guldseth and Flemming Okeke, two from John Chapman and one from Akeem Williams.
The Orediggers, who fell to 1-9 and 6-17, play host to MSU-Northern and the University of Great Falls next week.
Rocky improved to 5-5 and 13-8.
