BILLINGS — Five Rocky Mountain College players scored touchdowns Saturday as the Battlin’ Bears beat Montana Western 41-31 in a Frontier Conference football game on the Herb Klindt Field. (Stats)
Rocky scored 31 points in the second quarter to take a 31-10 lead, and the Bears held off a Western rally to improve to 4-1 overall and in league play.
Nathan Dick, Zaire Wilcox, DeNiro Killian and Joseph Dwyer ran for scores. Andrew Simon caught a touchdown pass from Dick.
Dick passed for 277 yards in the win. He also ran for 65. Lucas Overton racked up 99 yards on five receptions.
Jon Jund passed for 350 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs. He also threw a pair of picks. Trey Mounts and Jamison Hermans caught TD passes. Mounts’ score went for 77 yards.
Mounts finished with 90 yards receiving. Nate Simkins added 89 on five catches. Hermans caught five for 86.
Western is back at home next week to take on Southern Oregon. Rocky will travel to Eastern Oregon.
