BC’s McGeehan second, McGee eight in Harrison

HARRISON — Butte Central cross country runners Brian McGeehan and Abby McGee posted top-10 times at the Harrison Invitational Saturday.

Complete results from the meet are not available, but BC coach Bob Johnson said McGeehan took second, while McGee placed eighth.

McGeehan, a sophomore, finished the 3-mile race in 17 minutes, 47 seconds. McGee, a senior, ran in 22:45.

“All the runners who ran improved on their time from last year,” Johnson said.

Also for the Maroons, Zach Carlson finished in 19:58, Theron Nelson crossed in 20:26 and Nathan Ortega finished in 22:46. Ian Campbell and Cade Wyatt both sat out the race, each nursing a sore knee.

Johnson said exchange student Yaunbei Fan made his debut in the junior varsity race. He finished in 23:13.

Next up for the BC runners is the Mountain West meet, which is Saturday in Missoula.
