CORVALLIS — Saturday was a pretty good day for the Butte Central cross country team.

The Maroons placed fourth at the Southwestern A Divisional meet. Two runners earned All-Conference honors, and all six of BC’s boys will move on to next week’s Class A State meet in Helena.

“I’m pleased,” BC coach Bob Johnson said.

Sophomore Conor McGee and freshman Shannon Tempel are All-Conference runners after placing eighth and 10th.

McGee finished the 3-mile course in 16 minutes 54 seconds, while Tempel ran in 17:13.

Easton Albert of Hamilton won with a time of 15:54.

Also running for Butte Central were sophomore Clay Stillwagon (20:01), freshman Connor Larson in (21:31), junior Jarett Larson (21:34), and freshman Patrick O’Herron (26:43).

Hamilton’s boys won the meet with 24 points. Corvallis was second at 55, followed by Dillon at 73, BC at 105 and Anaconda at 120.

Sadi Henderson won the girls’ race in 18:44 as she led Corvallis to a team title with 24 points. She beat teammate Isabella Pape by 10 seconds. Olivia Wood of Anaconda was third at 18:55.
