For the second straight year, Butte Central setter Emily St. John was named the MVP of the Southwestern A Conference.

St. John, a senior, also took home All-State and first-team All-Conference honors. The Southwestern A All-Conference team was announced this morning. It includes conference members who received All-State recognition.

Butte Central classmate Corbyn Holm was the only other Maroon to receive post-season accolades. Holm, an outside hitter who emerged as a dominant power during her senior season, received a second-team All-Conference award.

St. John was a four-year contributor for the Maroons. She helped lead BC to third place at the Class A State tournament in 2015.

Joining St. John from the conference on the All-State team were Mariah Hinson of Stevensville, and Kate Hurlbert and Genesis Keith of Corvallis. Dillon’s Bailey Berriochoa and Kylie Christensen received first-team All-Conference honors.

Corvallis coach Kasey Arceniega was named Coach of the Year.
