BC works on consistency at Windy City Classic

BELGRADE — Butte Central’s volleyball team got some serious court time Saturday at the Windy City Classic at the Belgrade Special Events Center.

The Maroons also gave their coach a gauge of what the team needs to work on moving forward.

“I saw a lot of great things today and then some not so great things,” BC coach Becky Hancock said. “There needs to be more consistency in our play, and we need to become more solid all around. We have too many holes in too many areas of our game, things that we need to fix as we head into regular season play next week. But that is what tournaments are all about, working out the kinks. There is a lot there that needs to start coming together. It is going to take time, but we will get there.”

The Maroons fell 25-11 to Havre, 25-18 to Townsend and 25-21 to Livingston. BC beat White Sulphur Springs 25-19 before bowing out with a 25-18, 25-16 loss to Browning in tournament play.

Kassidy Criscuolo had a solid day on offense and defense. She tallied eight kills and collected 20 digs for the Maroons.

Cassidy Strizic pounded 11 kills, while Emma Keeley served up 12 assists and dug up 15 digs. The Maroons also got 12 digs from Sophia Burton and 10 assists from Olivia Bolton.

The Maroons will play their first match that counts Thursday at Dillon.
