BC volleyball team falls in four sets in Hamilton

HAMILTON — Butte Central’s volleyball team fell in four sets to the Hamilton Broncs Saturday afternoon.

The Broncs out killed the Maroons 54-33 in a 25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21 Southwestern A victory.

Butte Central coach Becky Hancock said the difference between winning and losing for the Maroons is coming down to consistency.

“Heading into the second half of the season, I feel we are playing better volleyball,” Hancock said. “We’re just allowing too many unforced errors.”

Tristy Searle tallied 13 kills to pace the Broncs. Olivia Bolton registered 10 kills and 18 digs to lead the Maroons.

BC also got nine kills and 13 digs from fellow senior Kassidy Criscuolo, while Sophia Burton (18, Emma Keeley (16) and Sophie Sullivan (12) hit double digits in digs.

Keeley ran BC’s offense with 15 assist. Bolton dished out nine.

“I do see the improvement,” Hancock said. “Every game I am seeing it. I can see the team they can be, and I know they can feel how far they have come. We just need to keep moving forward.”

The Maroons will play host to Corvallis next Friday. The next day they will host the Blocktober Classic at the Maroon Activities Center.
