DILLON — Columbia Falls handed Butte Central a three-set loss during the Western A Divisional volleyball tournament Thursday night at the B.W. Lodge Gymnasium.
The Wildkats advance to Friday’s 6 p.m. semifinals. The Maroons head to Friday’s 2 p.m. loser-out match against Dillon or Libby.
The Beavers and Loggers will play in a loser-out battle at 10 a.m.
Columbia Falls clinched a spot at State with the victory. The Maroons can join the Wildcats in Bozeman next week with one win.
“Man we played tough the first two games, but it just wasn’t enough tonight,” BC coach Becky Hancock said. “We now have tomorrow that we need to turn our focus to. One game, one win that’s all we need.”
Maci Reopelle tallied 14 digs, 13 assists and five kills to lead the Maroons in the loss. Cassidy Strizic spiked a team-leading seven kills. Sophia Burton added 10 digs.
