BOZEMAN — Butte Central will have to do it the hard way at the Class A State volleyball tournament.
The Maroons (12-7) dropped their tournament opener today, falling 26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 25-14 to Frenchtown (10-9) at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
Morgan Ray spiked 20 kills to pace the Broncs. Danee Leary and Mariah Cooney both tallied 13 spikes to lead BC. Cooney also racked up eight blocks.
Danika Neumann collected 26 digs. Leary hit the floor for 25 digs.
The Maroons head to loser-out play of the double-elimination tournament. Butte Central will play Billings Central at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rams fell in five games to Lewistown this morning.
