Butte Central’s softball team won the Southwestern A regular-season title with an 8-2 record.

That gave the Maroons (12-8 overall) a first-round bye in divisional tournament, which begins Friday in Hamilton. The Maroons first game in the double-elimination tournament is at 4 p.m. Friday against the winner of the 1 p.m. Stevensville-Dillon game.

Host Hamilton secured the second seed and a bye. The Broncs will also play at 4 p.m. They’ll take on the winner of the 1 p.m. Corvallis-Anaconda game.

The top three teams advance to the Class AA State tournament, which is May 21-23 in Anaconda.
