BC girls win sixth straight

STEVENSVILLE — Make it six wins in a row for the Butte Central girls’ basketball team.

The Maroons used a balanced offensive attack and a stingy defense Tuesday night to roll to a 44-21 Southwestern A victory over Stevensville. The victory completed the regular-season sweep of the Yellowjackets.

Senior Avery Kelly came off the bench to score 11 points to lead the way for the Maroons, who led 21-8 after giving up just two points in the second quarter. BC allowed just three Stevensville field goals on the game.

Delaney Hasquet added 10 points for the Maroons, while Sofee Thatcher scored all of her eight points from the free throw line. Brooke Badovinac came off the bench to score seven for BC, which got three apiece from Maddie Kump and Taylor Harrington.

Kelti Wandler and Shilo Lampi each scored six points to lead the Yellowjackets.

The Maroons, who rolled their record to 10-1 overall and 6-1 in conference, will head back to the Bitterroot Valley Saturday to take on Corvallis.
