BC girls win in Stevensville

STEVENSVILLE — Butte Central’s girls’ basketball team made it 6 for 6 in the Southwestern A.

Danee Leary scored a game-high 12 points, and the Maroons knocked off Stevensville 41-29 Saturday to improve to 6-0 in league play. The No. 2-ranked Maroons, who needed overtime to beat the Yellowjackets at home in December, are now 9-3 overall.

Mariah Cooney added nine points for the Maroons, who don’t play again until they host Hamilton next Saturday. Danika Neumann and Alysea Pica each scored eight, and Hannah Stajcar tossed in four.

Alycia Sims, a future University of Montana player, scored 11 points to pace the Yellowjackets, who fell to 4-6 and 2-3.
