BOZEMAN — The Butte Central Maroons had another solid day on the track Saturday.
Competing in their second track meet in three days, BC’s girls placed second while the Maroon boys took third at the Three Forks/Manhattan Christian Invitational at Van Winkle Stadium.
Fourteen teams competed in the meet that was moved to Bozeman from Belgrade. (Complete results)
Townsend’s boys won with 153.5 points. Manhattan Christian followed at 125.5, while BC scored 49 points.
Shields Valley scored 83.3 points to lead the girls’ race. The Maroons were second at 64.3.
The McGree sisters — Lindsay and Rileigh — led the BC girls.
Rileigh McGree, a freshman, won the 200-meter dash and the 100-meter hurdles. She also placed second in the triple jump.
Lindsay McGree, a senior, won the 100 and placed second in the long jump. Her time of 13.14 seconds in the 100 is a state-qualifying mark.
Along with Cheyanne Parks and Amira Bolton, the McGrees also ran a leg of BC’s second-place 400-meter relay team.
Bolton took second in the high jump for BC, while Savannah Parks placed fifth in the 3,200-meter race.
Junior Cutter Thatcher again led the BC boys, winning the 200 and 300 hurdles. He did not compete in the long jump.
Ryan Wahl took second in the discus for BC, while Thomas McGree finished second in the 110-meter hurdles and sixth in the triple jump.
Luke Jensen placed fifth in the 100 and the high jump, and Ian Williams took sixth in the shot put.
The Maroons are back in action Tuesday when they head to Corvallis for a Florence/Darby meet.
