BC girls roll to 9-0 in Corvallis

Corvallis — The Butte Central girls’ basketball team overcame a cold-shooting afternoon with some strong team defense to beat Corvallis 55-34 Saturday in a Southwestern A game.

The win puts the Maroons at 9-0 overall and 4-0 in conference.

Emily St. John tossed in 14 points to lead four Maroons in double figures. She was particularly strong in the first half when she scored 12 points to lead the Maroons build a 23-13 halftime advantage.

Mollie Peoples tossed in 12 points, while Kailee Murphy and Kloie Thatcher each scored 10. Murphy scored eight in the second half.

BC also got four from Sierra Pica and Megan Michelotti and one from Tricia Joyce.

Corinne Sanderson and Penny Jessop each scored eight to lead Corvallis.

The Maroons will be at home Thursday to take on Stevensville. They will take on Anaconda Saturday night. That game was moved back one night.
