Butte Central’s girls’ basketball team will play in the Western A Divisional tournament.
The Maroons secured their spot in next weekend’s tournament at the Butte Civic Center with a 52-38 loser-out win over Corvallis in the Southwestern A District tournament Saturday morning on the Dale Berry Court.
Central will play top-seeded Hamilton (18-2) in the third-place game at 3:30 p.m. The Broncs downed Stevensville 51-25 in the other loser-out game at the Hamilton Middle School.
The Maroons led 21-12 after the first quarter, 30-15 at the half, and 41-26 after three quarters.








Kloie Thatcher and Megan Michelotti each scored 18 points to lead the Maroons (15-5). Michelotti scored 13 in the first half to help the Maroons build the comfortable lead.
Olivia Bolton and Tricia Joyce each scored six points in the win, while Cassidy Strizic and Emma Keeley each tossed in two.
Bella Sorini and Allyson Mueller also contributed for the Maroons.
Calla Haldorson scored 20 points to lead the Blue Devils, who close the season at 5-15.

The Broncs outscored the Yellowjackets 17-6 in the first quarter and didn’t look back in the lopsided win.
Tristy Searle poured in 11 points to lead three Broncs in double figures. Mallory McGill and Cariann Kunkel each scored 10 points, while Lauren Ryter tossed in 8.
Kayla Schmiedeke and Haley Kampka each scored six to lead Stevensville, which closed the season at 3-17. Angel Richards tossed in five.
