BC girls bounce back in Corvallis

CORVALLIS  — Danee Leary’s double-double led the way today as Butte Central’s girls’ basketball team bounced back from Thursday’s thrilling loss to Butte High with a 47-34 Southwestern A victory.

Leary scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory, which was BC’s third in four games since the Christmas break. Alysea Pica scored 10 points, while Mariah Cooney added eight points and eight rebounds.

“It was not pretty,” BC coach Meg Murphy said. “But it’s a conference win. We’ll take it.”

The Maroons improved to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play. BC is back in action Thursday at Helena High. They play at Stevensville next Saturday.
