BC falls in three at Stevi

STEVENSVILLE — Butte Central’s volleyball team closed the regular season with a three-set Southwestern A loss at Stevensville Saturday afternoon.

The Yellowjackets knocked off the Maroons 25-17, 25-10, 25-10.

Butte Central coach Becky Hancock said it just wasn’t BC’s day.

“We simply got outplayed today,” the coach said. “Everything was out of sync, nothing was going our way today. Just not a good game for us, but it’s over, done with and now we move on to preparing for Districts next week.”

Allyson Mueller and Cassidy Strizic led BC’s attack at the net. Each spiked six kills. Sophia Burton collected 13 digs, while Emma Keeley dished out 15 assists.

The Maroons will head to the Southwestern A District tournament next Friday in Dillon. BC’s first match is at 4 p.m.

Hancock said her Maroons have the ability to do great things in the postseason.

“Mental toughness is our weakness right now, we need to overcome the frustrations of the game and key on what we need to do to be successful,” she said.

BC closes the regular season at 9-4 overall and 6-4 in conference.
