BC boys rout Loggers, Browning up next

HAMILTON — Butte Central’s boys’ basketball team cruised into the Western A Divisional semifinals today.

The Maroons (17-4) saw nine players score points, and BC routed Libby 66-29 on the Dale Berry Court to book a date with Browning (20-1) in Friday’s 6:30 p.m. semifinal. (Stats)

Central led 18-4 after the first quarter and 32-7 at halftime.

Dyllan Sestrich scored 15 points to lead BC. Cade Holter scored 12 points, and Braden Harrington and Trevor Neumann each scored eight points.

Matt Simkins added eight points and five rebounds for the Maroons, who got four points from Gator Yelenich and Luke Heaphy, three from Patrick Dolan and two from Jared Simkins.

Heaphy also handed out four assists. Sestrich, Holter, Harrington and Yelenich each dished out two.

Aaron Richards, Ryan Wahl and Thomas McGree also contributed in the victory.

Ryggs Johnston scored 14 points to lead the Loggers (14-9), who head to loser-out play.
