BC boys make it 2-0 at Missoula tournament

MISSOULA — Three Butte Central players scored in double figures Saturday morning, and the Maroons beat Polson 51-40 at the University of Montana Auxiliary Gym.

The non-conference boys’ basketball game was part of the Northwest vs. Southwest Class A Basketball Tip-off Tournament.

Aaron Richards poured in 15 points to lead the Maroons, who made 2 for 2 at the season-opening tournament. Dan McCloskey hit a pair of 3-poiners and scored 14 points, while Cade Holter tossed in 13.

The Maroons also got nine points from Matt Simkins.

Shade Main scored 21 points to lead the Pirate. Asa Askan added 14.

The Maroons play their home opener Friday against Frenchtown.
