Battlin’ Bears bow out

BILLINGS — Rocky Mountain College close out its 2018-19 season Thursday night with a 65-57 loss to Shawnee State (Ohio) during the I first round of the 39th annual NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championships at the Metra. (Stats)

Ashton Lovely and Hannah Miller each scored 13 points to lead Shawnee State in the win. Markaela Francis scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Rocky, which closes the season at 20-13.

Brooke Jones scored 13 points for the Battlin’ Bears, while Butte Central graduate Kloie Thatcher tossed in 11 points. Thatcher, a true freshman, also pulled down four rebounds and dished out five assists.
