The Butte Basketball Study Club is seeking new officials for the 2016-2017 upcoming season.
Meetings will begin on Monday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Maroon Activities Center. Anyone interested is urged to contact the Montana Officials Association in Helena at 442-6010 or contact Bob Rowling at 490-5822 for information.
New officials would have to pay a membership fee of $65 for one sport and $30 for each additional sport. Dues include payment for all rules manuals, study materials and online resources. Dues must be paid prior to the exam date which is online and begins on Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 19. Current study club members will aid new and prospective officials on rules prior to testing.
All existing and prospective officials are urged to register as soon as possible and to take the required yearly concussion training course. Officials can’t officiate any contests until that test is completed.
The Rules Clinic is now available through Dec. 2. Officials eligible to up-grade to Certified or Master must send in a letter requesting that by Nov. 22 and the test for up-grading would be available from Nov. 28-Dec. 5.
