Basketball analyst Doug Gottlieb going to Bozeman

BOZEMAN C CBS basketball analyst and former Oklahoma State basketball star Doug Gottlieb ranks among the top 20 players in college basketball history in assists. On June 24, Gottlieb will be in Bozeman assisting an old friend.

Gottlieb, a long-time friend of new Bobcat basketball coach Brian Fish, comes to Bozeman for Montana State’s Sixth Man Mixer, open to all basketball fans and held at the Baxter Hotel Ballroom. The cost is $20 for the general public, $10 for Bobcat Club members, and free for members of Montana State Basketball’s Sixth Man Club.

Gottlieb compiled 947 assists as a point guard at Notre Dame and OSU during his standout career. Bobcat basketball coach Brian Fish, friends with Gottlieb for many years, jumped at the opportunity to bring him to Bozeman to promote college basketball. “Doug is a great ambassador for the game of basketball and he’s entertaining because he’ll speak his mind,” Fish said. “Anyone who is a basketball fan will enjoy getting to know him and hearing him speak.”

The event begins at 6 pm, with appetizers served and a cash bar. For information, contact Mandy Patriarche at 994-6859 or mpatriarche@msubobcats.com.
