Balanced Western women top Rocky Mountain

DILLON — Talk about a balanced attack.

Without one player reaching double figures scoring Saturday night, No. 22 Montana Western knocked off No. 20 Rocky Mountain College 54-48 in a Frontier Conference women’s basketball game at the Straugh Gymnasium. (Stats)

Savanna Bignell and Natali Denning each scored eight points to lead the Bulldogs (11-6, 4-2). Brynley Fitzgerald scored seven.

Markaela Francis scored 16 points to lead the Battlin’ Bears (12-5, 3-3), who fell into  12-5 hole in the first quarter. Keahi-lele Roy tossed 12 points, and Kloie Thatcher scored eight.
