Western outscored The Master’s University 24-11 in the fourth quarter for a 60-55 quarterfinal victory Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs (28-4) will play Freed-Hardeman (34-3) in Monday’s 5 p.m. semifinal. (Bracket)
Britt Cooper scored 14 points to lead the Bulldogs. Brianna King added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win. Overall, Western dished out 16 assists. Cooper and Paige Holmes each handed out three.
Cierra Lamey, who grabbed eight rebounds, joined Tori Anderson with 10 points, and Shannon Worster tossed in nine. Holmes netted five. Brandy Bookout, Savanna Bignell and Darby Schey also contributed in the victory.
Anika Neuman’s 16 points led The Master’s, which closes the season at 28-7. Stephanie Soares scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, while Sabrina Thompson tossed in 12 points.
