Balanced Bulldog girls knock off Skyview

BILLINGS — Butte High’s girls’ basketball team picked up its second big road win of the weekend Friday night.

Brittney Tierney scored 10 points to lead the way, and the Bulldogs knocked off Billings Skyview 41-37 in an Eastern AA game at the Skyview Gym.

Butte High outscored the Falcons 16-10 in the final 8 minutes to overcome a 27-25 deficit.

Haley Herron added nine points, and Aspen Lovshin tossed in eight for the Bulldogs, who improved to 3-5 and 6-7. Butte High’s balanced attack also got seven points from Kira Mortnensen, four from Ally Cleverly and three from Justise Birkenbuel.

Nevaeh Alden’s 19 points paced the Falcons, who fell to 1-5 and 5-7.

Butte High, which won in Bozeman on Tuesday, are back on the road Tuesday when they head to Dillon for a non-conference game.
