Baker works two innings

BILLINGS — Bryon Baker saw his most extensive action of the season Saturday.

The Butte native pitched two scoreless innings in relief in a 10-0 MSU-Billings loss to Western Oregon at Dehler Park. Baker, who is 10 months removed from shoulder surgery, struck out two and walked two. The junior right hander needed 39 pitches for the two shout out innings.

Baker lowered his ERA to 3.86. He has surrendered two earned runs in 4.2 innings. Baker has yet to factor into a decision.

The Yellowjackets (12-11 overall, 6-8 GNAC) bounced back to win the second game of the doubleheader 8-7. Baker didn’t pitch in that game.

The teams play again Sunday in Billings. Next weekend MSUB will be in Lacey, Washington, for four games with Saint Martin’s University.
