Baker starts, leaves with lead

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Butte pitcher Bryon Baker got his second start of the West Coast League season Monday night.

Baker pitched 5 1/3 innings against the first-place Bellingham Bells and left the game with the Kitsap BlueJackets leading 2-1. The soon-to-be MSU Billings sophomore, though, got a no decision as Kitsap fell 8-2 for their 12th straight loss.

Baker threw 96 pitches, 52 for strikes. He surrendered three hits, struck out three and walked five, lowering his ERA to 2.65.

The BlueJackets continue the three-game series against the Bells Tuesday night.
