Baker lowers ERA in BlueJackets win

BRERTON, Wash. — Butte native Bryon Baker made another successful appearance for the Kitsap BlueJackets Thursday night.

The BlueJackets beat the Bend Elks 11-4. Baker entered the game in the eighth inning, struck out two batters and induced a groundout to third.

Baker closed out the game in the ninth with a strikeout and two groundouts. His ERA dropped to 3.37.

The BlueJackets sit at 7-4 and are one game behind first-place Bellingham in the West Division of the West Coast League. The West Coast League is similar to the Cape Cod League, where pro scouts frequent to view potential future draft picks.

Baker, a former Butte Miner, will be a sophomore at MSU Billings this fall.
