Baker goes three innings in BlueJackets win

BREMERTON, Wash. — Butte’s Bryon Baker pitched three innings but didn’t factor into the decision Friday night as the Kitsap BlueJackets beat the Medford Rogues 7-4 in a West Coast League game.

Baker threw 42 pitches, 22 for strikes, while give up three runs on four hits. Baker, whose ERA rose to 5.68, struck out one batter in a game that saw two bench-clearing brawls. Baker left the game with a 6-3 lead.

At 16-23, the BlueJackets are in the cellar of the West Division. The West Coast League is similar to the Cape Cod League, a place for pro scouts to get a look at future draft picks.

Baker will be a sophomore at MSU Billings this next school year. He figures to get one more start before the end of the West Coast League season.
