Badovinac wins City handball crown

Make it three in a row for Brett Badovinac.

The Butte handball player beat Rich Hawe 21-10, 21-8 at the Elks Monday night to claim his third straight City Singles title. Hawe was playing for his first City title since 1985.

Hawe beat Frankie Shields in the semifinals. Badovinac knocked off Don Foley in the other semi. Shields topped Foley 21-15, 21-6 to claim third place on Monday.

Badovinac and Foley recently teamed to win the state open title in doubles. The state singles tournament is this weekend in Billings.
