Keeley takes home second-team all-conference selection

The Southwestern A announced its all-conference and All-State softball selections today, and three Butte Central players took home honors.

Brooke Badovinac and Sofee Thatcher took home first-team all-conference and All-State, while BC teammate Mia Keeley received a second-team all-conference nod.

The honors come after Butte Central’s dramatic turnaround from 1-9 to a three-win team at the Class A State tournament.

Badovinac, a junior shortstop, batted .558 on the season. She hit three of her six home runs at the State tournament. Thatcher, a senior pitcher, hit .519 and was a spark after returning from a seven-game absence with a knee injury. She went 11-5 in the pitcher’s circle.

Keeley, a junior catcher, batted .411 on the regular season to help the Maroons qualify for State.

Five Frenchtown players received All-State recognition. They are Sadie Smith, Cassidy Bagnell, Abby Faulhber, Toni Beatty and Juna Ashby. Corvallis’ Macee Greenwood also took home All-State recognition, while Corvallis’ Gabby Krueger and Frenchtown’s Alexis Godin were named first-team all-conference.
