WHITEFISH — The Frontier Conference announced Athletes of the Week for volleyball and football today.
Attacker of the Week: Sadie Lott, University of Providence, is a 5-foot-9 freshman middle blocker from Idaho Falls. No. 20 University of Providence went 2-0 in its weekend road series against No. 17 Rocky Mountain College. The Argos won by identical 3-1 scores on Friday and Saturday. Lott averaged 4.25 kills per set with an attack percentage of .319. She also averaged 2.50 digs per set. Also nominated: Morgan Allen of Rocky Mountain College and Maureen Jessop of Montana Tech.
Defender of the Week: Sacha Legros, University of Providence, is a 5-9 senior outside hitter from Verviers, Belgium. Legros averaged 6.25 digs per set in the wins over Rocky. Also nominated: Ayla Embry of Rocky Mountain College.
Setter of the Week: Cydney Finberg-Roberts of the University of Providence, is a 5-11 junior setter from Columbia Falls. 12.75 assists and 2.63 digs per set against Rocky. Also nominated: Natalie Hilderman of Rocky Mountain College and McKenna Kaelber of Montana Tech.
Defensive Player of the Week: T.J. Abraham, of Carroll College, is a 5-8, 170-pound junior safety from Powell, Wyoming. In Carroll’s 14-12 opening season over Rocky Mountain College, Abraham recorded 11 solo tackles, two assisted tackles, two pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble. Also nominated: Alex Bush of Rocky Mountain College and Joey Calzaretta of College of Idaho.
Offensive Player of the Week: Mathew Burgess of Carroll College, is a 5-11, 195-pound sophomore running back from Junction City, Oregon. Burgess rushed for 146 yards on 25 carries. He also caught four passes for 121 yards and one touchdown. Also nominated: Isaiah Veal of College of Idaho.
