The weeks athletes of the week are the 9/10U Mile High All Stars, they traveled to Missoula to play this past weekend at the Mount Jumbo Little League Complex.
The Mile High All Stars did battle with Mount Jumbo, Dillon, The Northwest All Stars, and Missoula Sentinel.
They won their first game in convincing fashion 12-0 over Mount Jumbo while also notching a perfect game behind the arm of Benny “The Jet” Donaldson. They would go on to win their next two on Saturday and lost a close battle to Sentinel 6-4.
Game two saw more great pitching from Kale “does it all” Alexander who was also a Double shy of a cycle, Colt “The Wrecking Ball” Horsely came in and closed the door on Dillon on the bump for Butte.
The bats were also alive and well as Cole “The Boss” O’Connor laced a triple and mashed the ball all weekend. Cruz “The Missile” Clary and had a great oppo shot down the right field line to keep his team rolling.
Game 3 saw more good hitting and defense as everyone got a little piece of the action Brysen “Fuzz” Fosness hit the ball great and played great in the infield. Cooper “The Slugger” Coffing, Ridge “the Iceman” Bauer, and Mason “The Scrapper” Lowney all caught great games behind the plate and hit well too. Jace “Big Shot” Graham played great on both sides of the ball, Gavin “Utility” Norris and Nick ‘The Quick” Koleman were stealing bases and scoring runs all weekend.
They went a combined 3-1 in Pool play notching the top seed for next week’s district tournament again held in Missoula, but it will be at Sentinels complex, where the top 3 seeds will then get to play for a state title July 27th to July 30th, location will be determined by the team that wins the divisional tournament this coming weekend. They have a first round bye with the #1 seed.
